I had the pleasure recently of sewing with some beautiful new Tasha Noel fabric. Whimsical Woodland is full of my favorite colors (pink, red, and aqua) and some beautiful prints. I’m currently finishing up a quilt in this lovely fabric line, but I had to choose a couple of prints to make up some girly dresses.

I always love a border print, and this one comes in 3 beautiful color ways. I used the aqua one to make matching outfits for my two little girls.

My oldest daughter likes to wear skirts, so I made a simple elastic-waist skirt for her, with a pink plaid panel down the front.

I didn’t use a pattern for this, but it was super quick and easy!

For my 4-year-old I used the border print for a skirt and then the dainty pink mushroom for the bodice. This one had some cute details on it, so it took a bit more time.

It has belt tabs and a long tie belt, and I had the perfect little pink bow buttons to finish it off.

I opted to just do bias binding on the neck rather than fussing with a collar and facing on such a small space. It works well as an edge finish, and adds a new print.

It ended up a bit short, so I added some lace to the bottom. Hopefully she will be able to wear it for at least next summer also.

They look so cute in their coordinating outfits!

Their baby brother had to get in on the action. 🙂

I loved the pink mushroom so much that I also used it for an entire dress, with a contrasting yoke of aqua plaid.

This is a more modern pattern which I’ve made before, and it’s very simple and quick, easy to customize with contrast or trims, etc.

This time I tacked the bow down securely so it would keep its shape.

It’s loose and breezy, perfect for the very hot summer days we were having. But you could also omit the bow and use this pattern for a summer nightgown.
