I’ve had this outfit planned for at least a year! I never got around to making it last summer, but this year I finally got it done.

The floral is from the Thimbleblossoms fabric line called Dwell, which released a couple years ago and is one of my top favorites from them. I stalked it for a year until it went on sale, then got some quilting cuts and yardage for dresses. The 4th of July dress I made 2 years ago used one of the prints, and this is the other one.

For this one I wanted a 2 pc so that I could mix and match. I can also pair the skirt with a red, blue, or white blouse – or pair the blouse with a solid color skirt.

I love the touch of peach in it too! It’s hard to find giant prints, which work well for dresses but not as much for quilts, so aren’t made as much as smaller prints. This one was a great scale for a 1950s outfit!

I didn’t get the jacket fit quite right on this one, so I may tweak it a bit, but I do like the combo – and the raglan sleeves are very comfortable.

I switched shoes after these photos and wore these vintage ones instead. They coordinated perfectly in color and style.

I recently found this hat while antiquing at a new local antique mall, and this was its first outing. The little wire shapes are hearts, so it would be a fun fit for Valentine’s Day – but the red matched the fabric perfectly so I had to wear it.

It was pretty similar to some other patterns I’ve done, so the assembly went quickly. It’s a fun summer outfit.

I’m so glad to have it off my shelf and in my closet!
