I made this a few months ago for the Matilda blog tour for Poppie Cotton, but didn’t get photos of it until recently. This was my favorite print and I think it looks like floral cameos!

I picked Butterick 6191, a 1950s blouse pattern which I’ve made before, and stitched up a pretty spring blouse.

I have a love-hate feeling towards raglan sleeves. I really like how easy they are to sew – anything to avoid setting in sleeves! – and they are comfy to wear. But they often look a bit baggy, which bothers me a bit on this one.

I did trim the cuffs myself into a cute little scallop, cutting a matching shaped facing, to dress them up a bit.

Some vintage Battenberg lace from my stash dresses up the collar.

I had the perfect small shell vintage buttons in my button drawer!

After making it I wished I had paid closer attention to matching the motifs in the front – but overall I think it turned out very pretty. I just love this sweet fabric!

On some of these photos you can catch a glimpse of my other Matilda project in the background – a classic postage stamp quilt which I am slowly hand quilting. (I made a quick how-to reel of how I made this one, which you can find on Instagram, if you want to make your own.)

All ready for spring in the prettiest shade of blue!

I would love a blouse like this for the warmer summer weather. It would go really well with my casual cotton trousers. Do you ever wear trousers or jeans? You can find feminine styles these days and they are so comfortable and practical for work around the house.

No, I don’t ever wear trousers or jeans…At this point I find that dresses/skirts are quite adequate for my daily duties. 🙂
