It’s my day to share some projects with the new fabric line Le Petit Escargot from Poppie Cotton. It has some lovely pastel prints, which were my favorites, especially the periwinkle color! Here’s the selections I chose to work with.

Originally I had only planned to make the coordinating dresses for my little girls, but I couldn’t stop sewing with it!

First I made a set of dresses. This one was from a modern pattern which I thrifted, and it works really well as a loose & comfy summer dress for my 6-year-old.

I drafted my own pocket pattern (she specifically requested pockets!) to fit the exact last scrap of the leftover lace I had used for the hem.

This periwinkle snail stamp print is one of my favorites, and it coordinates with this pale pink perfectly. It was adorable for a dress.

The 4-year-old’s dress was from a 1940s pattern, but it’s a pretty classic style that I’ve seen many variations on from the different eras.

I cut the sleeves from one of the FQ, and love how cute the floral looks paired with the seafoam color.

She’s very petite for a 4-year-old so it’s still a bit big for her, but hopefully that just means she can wear it next summer too!

As usual, I also decided to make something that featured some of the other cute prints. I ended up making 2 small quilty projects. This one was a table topper that was inspired by a photo I saw recently from FlamingoToes.

I made 4 Dresden blocks in the pastels (adding in a bit of fussy cutting just for fun), hand appliquéd them, and then assembled them with a touch of black to make a sweet springish table topper.

I was aiming for a windowpane look and I think it worked well.

I had originally wanted to do a wide, scalloped border – and I still think that would have been cute, but I just didn’t have enough of the periwinkle print that I wanted to use for the border.

Then I quilted it with some free motion quilting on my Juki, bound it with pale pink, and I think it turned out super cute!

It’s just the right size for my nightstand, too, so now I can see it every day. 🙂

My final project was a zipper project bag, which I also made without a pattern. I just made a 4″ star, turned it into a log cabin block, and then added onto it to make the zipper bag front.

I used it immediately for a new cross stitch I had just started, and I love pulling it out every day to embroider. Those pastels play so well together, and are so cheerful and dainty and springlike!

I hope you enjoyed this little variety of what can be made from Le Petit Escargot, and make sure you check out the amazing range of beautiful projects that have been shared so far on this fabric tour!
