Recently my brother gave a lawn party & dance themed for three decades, from the 1940s-1960s. I wanted to share a few photos from the event, since we were lucky enough to attend.

The guests enjoyed mingling. Most folks who showed up in costume chose the 1940s or 1950s.

Myself and a dear friend chose 1940s, naturally. I wore my Easter dress – can you tell I'm in the 3rd trimester now? That skirt hides it pretty well!

There was much laughter and experimenting with 1940s model poses as well.

Aha – the military arrives!

There was lots of conversation and gorgeous music, chosen for a variety of dance steps and played by decade. And dancing, naturally. Dancing with Daddy is special! 🙂

The evening ended with hand mixed ice cream sodas – delicious!

The soda making process was too fascinating for the little people.
